Election Day!
Tue 06 Oct 2020Thursday 1st October was our election day for our new School Council representatives. We ran it like a real general election; children had to register to vote to receive their polling card, the previous School Council created a manifesto for each House and those who wanted to be considered had to find 2 people to nominate them. We even borrowed Swale Councils polling booths and ballot box on the day. Not only did the 2 children with the highest votes, in each class, become part of this year's new council but the House with the most representatives, provided the agenda for the year in the form of their manifesto!

First Day at Sunny Bank!
Mon 07 Sep 2020Reception's first morning of school has been very successful. The children were all eager to come into school, all looking so smart in their new uniform. The children got to explore the outdoor and indoor areas. They seemed to make relationships very quickly, already making birthday cakes for one another. Some of the children were building sandcastles and decorating them, whilst others were feeding the sharks in the water area. To end the morning they all sat with intrigue listening to their first story.
All in all a great first day at Sunny Bank Primary!

Celebrating 25 Years!
Mon 06 Jul 2020On behalf of all the children, parents, staff and the whole community we thank Mrs Wendy Coleman as she celebrates 25 years in service!
Head of school, Mr Waters presented Mrs Coleman with a lovely plant and a 25 years service medal to celebrate her silver anniversary and said, "During a time where the school is far from normal, it is wonderful to celebrate a remarkable achievement and provide a sense that some things have not changed. Wendy has dedicated a great deal of time into ensuring that the families and community of Sunny Bank can cross the road safely on the way and back home from school, indeed she is now crossing children of parents that used to cross as children!"
Mrs Coleman reflected on her time as a valued friend to the community,
“I was only going to stay 6 weeks - 25 years on and I am still here!
I would just like to thank Mr Waters and all the staff and parents over the years for their support. Seeing the children crossing the road safely is what makes my job worthwhile. Thank you.”
25 years is an impressive landmark and as a school we would like to thank Wendy for watching over us in her role as School Crossing Patrol and look forward to more safe crossings in the years to come.
