“RE explores big questions about life, to find out what people believe and what differences this makes to how they live, so that pupils can make sense of religion, reflecting on their own ideas and ways of living.”
At Sunny Bank the school aims to engage pupils in systematic enquiry into human questions which religion and worldviews address. It encourages children to consider challenging questions to deepen their understanding and to allow them to make informed choices and decisions of their own.
We use a range of artefacts, videos and speakers and outside visits to local places of worship to help bring the learning alive. We have close links with the local community Church and contact with the Family Trust and Canterbury Cathedral Education Centre. In future we hope to establish links with other faith communities.
RE explores the big questions about life. This is achieved by reading and interpret texts from a variety of World Faiths and class discussions. We follow the Kent Agreed Syllabus to ensure consistency and progress across every year group.
