  • Christmas Fayre Thursday 19th December

    Tue 19 Nov 2024

We are delighted to invite you to our Christmas Fayre on the afternoon of Thursday 19th December. Our new PTA “Friends of Sunny Bank Primary School” will be running the fayre this year so I do hope that you will all attend and show your support. I will send out a communication closer to the time with a list of the exciting attractions at the fayre including prices. We have lots of fun and excitement planned – including our Santa’s Grotto.

There will be a variety of stalls and activities and it will be lots of fun! Christmas fayres are charitable events which bring the community together and help to raise a little bit of money for the school.

We normally ask for donations from businesses and families. The donations we are asking for, are anything that we can raffle or put in our tombola. Any donations that you can make would be greatly appreciated and we would welcome; bottles, toys, items that can be sold on our Bric a Brac stall, wrapped chocolates, sweets, tins, toiletries (unused), household, beauty etc. We would also be grateful for donations of cakes or biscuits (shop bought). However, we ask that any perishable items such as these, be brought in no earlier than 17th December. Also, if you have any good condition soft cuddly toys that you are able to donate, we are hoping to have a soft toy tombola.

We will be sending out more information about donations soon. All donations can be given to Mrs Newbury, Mrs Loughnane or any member of the PTA.

If any parents would like to help set/up or run a stall please could you contact Mrs O’Reilly via the office.

We will also have some small local businesses holding stalls and selling their products. If anyone would be interested in holding a stall at our Christmas fayre, please get in contact with Miss Loughnane, who will be able to provide more information.

We will be sending out more details about our fantastic Christmas Fayre, closer to the time.

    Mr Allen

    Head of School

  • Non uniform days and donations for the Christmas Fayre

    Tue 19 Nov 2024

Sunny Bank Primary will be holding two non-uniform days for children. The first is on Friday 22nd November and the second is on Friday 13th December. These will both be to support in generating donations for our Christmas Fayre.  We are asking parents to support our PTA and our school by making donations towards our Christmas tombola/raffles/secrets present room, toy stall and bric a brac stall.

Any donations large or small would be greatly appreciated and will go towards raising money for an excellent cause. The PTA are currently raising money for our school minibus.

    We would welcome any items from the following;

    • Bottles (alcoholic and non-alcoholic)
    • Bubble bath
    • Soaps
    • Wrapped chocolates/boxes of chocolates
    • Cakes – shop bought or homemade. Anything home made needs to have an ingredients list
    • Sweets
    • Tins
    • Toiletries – shower gel, deodorant etc (unused) for men and women (for our secret presents room)
    • Household
    • Beauty
    • Unwanted toys
    • Cuddly toys
    • Any other items appropriate for a tombola

Any other donations – weird, wild and wonderful for our bric – a – brac stall. As I was unsure what bric a brac stall included I have found the following definition Bric-a-brac Stalls stock a wide range of second-hand curios, retro and vintage items, including collectables such as ceramics and glass, memorabilia, books and militaria.

Any perishable items such as cakes and biscuits can be brought in no earlier than on the 17th December.

If parents are donating alcoholic items, these MUST be given to the school office and not sent in with children.

Once again we would like to thank parents and businesses for supporting this event.

We look forward to welcoming you all on 19th December.  See you there.

    Mr Allen

You are more than welcome to bring any pre-school children; however, we do ask that if they become unsettled during the performance that you take them into the foyer. You will appreciate that the children have worked very hard, and we hope to keep distractions to a minimum.
