  • Book Week

    Fri 27 Feb 2026

We are delighted to share that Book Week will begin on Monday 2nd March, and we have a wonderful range of activities planned to celebrate reading and inspire a love of books across the school.

On Monday, we will launch Book Week with a whole‑school assembly and introduce our Bookmark Competition, which children will complete in school.

On Tuesday, the children will enjoy our Masked Reader event, where they can guess the identities of staff members as they listen to the stories.

On Wednesday, a professional storyteller will visit the school to share exciting tales with each year group.

On Thursday, children are invited to come to school dressed in their pyjamas. Please also see attached flyer about our Roald Dahl special lunch menu on Thursday 5th.

On Friday, children may dress up as their favourite book character. Throughout the day, everyone will take part in “Stop and Read” whenever the music plays. We will also have Nickle Books in school, giving children the chance to browse and use their £1 World Book Day tokens.

Alongside these special events, a variety of engaging book‑themed activities will be taking place in classrooms all week.

We are very much looking forward to a joyful and inspiring week!

  • After-School Provision

    Mon 09 Feb 2026

    Dear Families,

    After-School Provision

I am writing to inform you of an important change to our after-school provision. From the start of next term, we will be introducing a small charge for our after-school club. This will enable us to maintain the high level of care your children receive and ensure we can continue to provide a wide range of resources and activities for them to enjoy.

From Monday 23rd February 2026, the following fees will apply:

    · £1.00 for collection by 4.00pm

    · £2.00 for collection by 5.00pm

All payments must be made in advance via Arbor and children must be booked into the club before attending. Please note that children who are not booked in and whose fee has not been paid will not be admitted to after-school club. In these cases, we will expect your child to be collected at the usual end-of-day time of 3.15pm.

We are attaching our Late Collection Policy to this letter. It is essential that all families read this carefully, as it outlines the procedures that will be followed in the event of repeated late collections. We ask for your full cooperation in ensuring children are collected promptly, as late pick-ups have a significant impact on staffing and the smooth running of the school.

Thank you for your understanding and continued support as we work to provide the best possible care for all our pupils.

    Yours sincerely

    Miss Nicole Hyett

    Head of School

  • Parent Open Afternoon

    Thu 05 Feb 2026

I am delighted to invite parents to this term’s parent open afternoon on Thursday 12th February 2026. During our Open Afternoon, we will be exploring the important topic of internet safety, focusing on the dangers of talking to people online.

Children will engage in interactive activities that help them understand how to protect their personal information, recognise risky situations, and make safe choices when using the internet. The session is designed to be hands-on and engaging, encouraging children to think critically about their online interactions while learning practical strategies to stay safe.

It is a fantastic opportunity for our children to have meaningful discussions and really promote the importance of internet safety to our children. We encourage as many parents as possible to attend.

Parents will be able to enter the school at 2:00pm via the side gate and then be shown to the children’s classrooms. For those who have more than one child in the school we ask that the time is split between siblings and that the parents visit the youngest sibling’s class first. Teaching Assistants will guide the adults to the other sibling’s classes when required.

As you are aware, a school office is very busy and therefore parents will not be admitted for the open afternoon after 2:20 pm. I know that you will appreciate this and support the school to ensure the smooth running of the open afternoon.

Parents who attend the open afternoon, will be able to take their children home from 2:45pm and will be required to sign them out with the class teacher and exit via the side gate. Parents are not to exit the school via the main school office for safeguarding reasons. For any children whose parents are unable to attend, the normal school end time will apply.

As always, I thank you in advance for supporting the school as partners in our children’s education. I look forward to seeing you all on the 12th February at 2pm.

    Kind Regards

    Miss N Hyett
