  • Ofsted Visit

    Fri 12 Jul 2024

    Dear Parents and Carers,

As you are aware we had a visit from Ofsted on Tuesday and Wednesday of this week, and I wanted to take a moment to share how incredibly proud I am of our school, children, staff and parents. Our children represented our school exceptionally well. All of our children demonstrated the great things that happen at Sunny Bank from the fantastic learning and progress that they are making, the hard work that they put in every day and the caring nature to the  focus on wellbeing that is at the core of our community school.

I am sure that you will also join me in a great big shout out for every member of staff at Sunny Bank, cleaners, caterers, office staff, caretakers, support staff, pastoral team, teaching staff, teachers and leaders. All staff at Sunny Bank go over and above every day and work relentlessly to ensure that they are the best that they can be, so that our children get the very best education, care and nurture and amazing experiences that they rightly deserve.

I also want to thank all parents who contributed to our very positive parent view survey during the inspection and to all parents who work as partners with our staff to ensure that we secure the best education for our children. Our children would not achieve as well as they do without this strong partnership.

This is also a moment to celebrate our key stage 2 outcomes which were released on Tuesday; it was a busy Tuesday. These KS2 outcomes were the best that they have ever been at Sunny Bank. I will of course be sharing these with parents as soon as I am able to.

I know that with such a dedicated team, children, staff and parents we will continue to achieve even better as we strive for the best for our children in the future.

Thank you all again, as always, for your support as partners in our children’s education.

Have a fantastic weekend and enjoy the football. Hopefully we will be celebrating as a country on Monday.

    Mr Allen

    Wed 10 Jul 2024

The UK National Read-Aloud Challenge is a fantastic way to cultivate a love of reading from an early age. This initiative involves using the Award Winning Fonetti app, which offers a range of engaging stories and factual books. By participating in this challenge, your child will build confidence in reading, develop speech and comprehension skills, and enhance vocabulary - all while having fun with the app over summer.
