• Statement from the Head of School

  I am writing to inform you that recently, I have been out of school during parts of the week. Providing cover and leadership support at another Island Learning Trust School and so I have been less present at Sunny Bank. On the days that I have been absent, Mrs Johnson (Assistant Headteacher at Sunny Bank) and Miss Akrill have been supported by SLT members from across the Trust Including the CEO. 

   

  I am still very much leading Sunny Bank Primary School. During this time, the school has continued to function successfully, the great learning has continued and our children continue to thrive. This arrangement will be in place into the near future with the same level of support from the Trust. 

   

  Going forward, any questions or matters arising that parents would normally direct to me should be directed to Mrs Johnson for ease of communication. 

   

  I have every confidence that, with the TILT support and our strong community partnership, we will maintain the high standards, outcomes and care for our children that has come to be the normal expectation at Sunny Bank. 

   

  I thank you in advance, as always, for your understanding and support as partners in our children’s education.

  

• Sunny Bank Primary School PTA Christmas Disco – Tuesday 17th December

  Following the success of our Autumn Dress Up Disco, the PTA are thrilled to invite children to our Festive Christmas Disco!

   

  All tickets can be purchased online from our Funding Wall - link below:-   Once your ticket has been purchased you will receive a questionnaire to provide important details about your child. This MUST be completed. Failure to do so may result in your child not being admitted.

   

  We will be hosting two sessions to accommodate pupils in (Years 1 to 3) and (Years 4 to 6), as this worked really well last time.  Times are as follows:

   

  Years 1 to 3 – 3:30pm to 4:30pm

  As this session will be held straight after school, pupils attending the disco can bring in a change of clothes and will be taken directly to the hall when school ends.  Any pupils not attending the disco should be collected at the normal time of 3:15pm.

  Years 4 to 6 & Meadowfield – 4:30pm to 5:30pm

  Pupils to arrive via the front Reception. Years 4,5 and 6, have the options to buy glowsticks, sweets and tattoos on the day.  

  • Glow sticks - 30p each or 4 for £1
  • Bags of sweets - 50p each 
  • Tattoos £1.00 each
  • Disco fun pack includes 4 glow sticks, 1 bag of sweets and 1 tattoo for £2.00 (Saving of 50p. These need to be purchased in advance online and the questionnaire completed)

  For anyone that needs any help with this please see staff on the gate in the morning and we can help you purchase online in the morning or using cash. Just come and see us at the gate.

   

  This is our 2^nd Disco event organised by our new PTA. There is a small price increase for this disco to cover costs incurred. For Year’s 1, 2 and 3, the price of the ticket includes Crisps, Drinks and Biscuits. For Years 4, 5, 6 and Meadowfield, the price of the ticket includes a Hot Dog and a drink.

   

  We are looking forward to celebrating the festive season with you all and creating wonderful memories. Let’s make this a disco night to remember.
