  Reports were sent out yesterday containing effort and attainment grades as well as targets and next steps in reading, writing and maths.  Due to recently having to close bubbles due to positive COVID cases, we are remaining cautious until the summer and so will not be holding open afternoons or parent consultations.  If you have any questions or comments regarding your child’s report please contact class teacher directly through Class Dojo or email the school. 

   

  A telephone conversation can be arranged with the class teacher if required.

   

  We have also included a class newsletter again this year, to share and celebrate some of the key moments and memories and to provide transition information for our ‘move-up’ days which are taking place on Thursday 15^th and Friday 16^th July. The children will spend these days in their ‘new’ classrooms with their ‘new’ teachers. In some cases, where transitions were planned earlier in the year children will be in the same classes with the same teachers that they have currently.

• Change in term dates 2021-2022

  Due to recent government guidance, linked to the additional bank holiday in 2022, academies can, for 1 year only, reduce the school year by one day.

   

  With this in mind, pupils will now return to school on Thursday 2^nd September 2021, which is one day later than originally planned.

  There is a school Inset Day on Tuesday 31^st August so the first day back for children after the summer break is Wednesday 1^st September.

• Year 6

  Although there are no productions, performances or proms again this year, we have several things lined up to celebrate the time that the children have spent at Sunny Bank and to take memories with them as they move to secondary school.

   

  Recently Nathan Timothy visited and held a song writing workshop for the children to record some of their thoughts and memories in a song – each child will receive a copy of this along with a year book containing photos and messages from their teachers.

   

  On Wednesday 21^st July, weather permitting, we will be having a Leaver’s picnic for all of our Year 6s – this will be from 5.00 – 7.00pm. This will unfortunately be for the children only, but will give them an opportunity to relax, play some games and say goodbye to staff and friends. There will be music and children may bring scooters/skateboards for the playground – sports equipment will be available. Food and drink will be provided.
