Phonics Workshop - Parents of Reception, Year 1 and Year 2
Tue 19 Apr 2022We would like to offer a phonic workshop for all families from Reception to Year 2. The purpose of the workshop is to introduce our new phonics scheme that we will be using from Term 5.
Monster Phonics is a systematic synthetic phonics program which has been recommended by the DFE. After a vast amount of research, we have decided as a school to follow the program as we believe it is right for our children and will allow them to make the most progress.
With exciting monsters and a range of hooks for every phonics lesson, we know our children will have fun whilst learning their phonics! The scheme also runs alongside comprehensive reading books which will further embed reading skills.
We would like to invite you into school to introduce the program and give you resources that you can use to help your children are home.
The workshop will take place on Friday 22nd April at 9am in the school hall. Please come into Reception where you will be asked to sign in.
We hope to see you there to be able to share with you our exciting new phonics scheme, the apps that it provides and the free e-book subscription. In the meantime, please take a look at their website HERE.

Easter Competition
Mon 28 Mar 2022After a very successful pumpkin competition, we have decided to introduce our very first Easter competition this year!
We would like you design and create your own Easter egg. Every year group from Nursery to Year 6 is welcome to join our competition, where there will be prizes in every year group.
Please bring your eggs in to the school hall on Tuesday 19th April, you will see a table with your Year group. Nursery and Reception children will bring their entries into class and they will be brought down to the hall.
Remember to ensure they have your name and class. As we have children with nut allergies, please ensure no nuts of any kind are used to decorate your eggs. Also, can we please ask that eggs are either hard boiled or polystyrene. We cannot wait to see your amazing designs!
We hope you have an ‘Eggciting’ Easter break and we look forward to seeing you all with your egg designs on Tuesday 19th April!
