World Book Week
The week commencing Monday 4th March 2024 is Book Week. We have a range of fun and exciting activities planned for the children. There will be a strong focus on reading for fun and enjoying reading anywhere!
There is the opportunity for children to dress up on both Wednesday 6th and Thursday 7th March. Children can either dress up as their favourite character or wear their pyjama’s. Dress up as a character on one day and pyjamas the next or a character as both days, it’s completely up to them. Please ensure your child has suitable footwear: No flip flops, sandals or slippers as these won’t be suitable for the playground.
On Wednesday 6th March, we will be holding a book swap in school. Children are able to bring in a book from home and swap for another pre-loved book during the school day.
We will also be having a bedtime read on this day, 3:30pm-4.30pm. Parents can join their child in school to share some bedtime stories. Children are welcome to bring in their favourite books, a teddy and pillow if they wish, but we will have plenty of resources in school to use.
On Thursday 7th March we will be having Nickel Books attending in school, this will give the children an opportunity to purchase a book using their book tokens they will be given that week. We are also holding a coffee morning this day, 9am in our school hall. There will be drinks, cakes and pastries available for all. Please enter via the side gate.
There are many exciting activities happening throughout the week: book bistro, stop and read, designing bookmark, writing book reviews and much much more! You do not want to miss this fun packed week!
We look forward to seeing everyone’s costumes and welcoming everyone in for our book read and coffee morning. Thank you as always, for supporting us as we work together in our children’s education.
