At Sunny Bank it is our belief that all children are unique and all children are special in their own way. We recognise each child as a unique individual with their own personal talents, experiences, learning styles and needs. We value their abilities and achievements, and are committed to provide an effective learning environment which promotes their intellectual and personal development. We aim to enable all children to participate fully in school life. Children acknowledge that individually we have our strengths but linked together we are even stronger.

At Sunny Bank, we work collaboratively to ensure all children receive an inclusive education. We have developed our Inclusion Team to support our vision, pupils, parents and the wider community.

This is Me' is an early intervention initiative focused on neurodiversity, designed to help schools, families, and professionals better understand and support the unique strengths and needs of neurodivergent children—regardless of whether they have a formal diagnosis. A trained member of school staff collaborates with families to produce a "This is Me needs summary", which examines nine key developmental areas. We all process the world in our own unique way. Our perspectives, experiences and the way our brains work are what make us who we are. We call this neurodiversity. Neurodivergent children's brains process information differently to others, which can make some environments difficult. Your child's 'This is me' needs summary is unique to them. It highlights areas where they may differ, which could represent strengths but may also point to challenges for both them and you as a family. By concentrating on the areas of greatest difference, you can better tailor your support and understanding to meet your child's needs.
