This year, we are delighted to welcome representatives from the Salvation Army into school to lead a special Harvest assembly for our children. During the assembly, they will explain what Harvest is, why it is celebrated, and how communities can work together to support those who may be experiencing difficulties. The children will learn about the importance of gratitude, kindness and helping others, which are values that sit at the heart of our school community.

As part of our Harvest celebrations, we will also be supporting the Salvation Army by collecting donations that will be used in their Christmas food and support packages for local individuals and families in need.

 

We would be extremely grateful for any donations of the following items:

· Tinned vegetables

· Tinned fruit

· Hot chocolate

· Breakfast cereals

· Biscuits

· Crackers

· Chocolate treats

· Chocolate selection boxes

· Christmas sweets

· Christmas puddings

· Christmas cake

· Mince pies (long-life packaged)

· Crackers

· Custard

· Gravy granules

· Stuffing mix

· Cranberry sauce

· Jam

· Honey

· Toiletries (such as shampoo, shower gel, toothpaste and toothbrushes)

· Baby essentials (nappies and baby wipes)

 

We would like to invite families to begin bringing donations into school from tomorrow. Donations can be handed to your child's class teacher, given to the adults on the gate or handed into the school office.

The deadline for donations is Wednesday 30th September. This will allow the Salvation Army sufficient time to sort and distribute the items ahead of the Christmas period.

Every contribution, no matter how small, will make a real difference to families within our local community. Thank you in advance for your kindness and generosity. We are always proud of how our Sunny Bank families come together to support others.
