At Sunny Bank Primary our vision is to provide an ICT curriculum that prepares pupils for the rapidly changing world of technology .
We believe in equality of access, and endeavour to provide pupils’ with experiences that prepare them for the future. We allow children time and freedom to explore technology, develop computational thinking and harness their creativity. We see computing as an opportunity to make purposeful mistakes in order to develop new learning and challenge our ideas and ways of thinking. Our curriculum provides deep links with mathematics, science and design and technology.
Through our computing curriculum, we ensure that our learners are digitally literate, confident and can use technology safely. We want our children to be able to express their ideas through ICT.
We enjoy computing through lots of practical investigations, progressing across the Key Stages. In Key Stage 1, children explore algorithms through programmable technology such as Bee-Bots. In Key Stage 2, we use computer programs, such as Scratch, to build on our prior knowledge.
Our curriculum prepares children to be active participants in a digital world!
